My very first interest in the stock market began in a high school economics class during the 2008 Great Recession. As the eldest of two children, I was born and raised in Novi, Michigan. To pursue my financial interests, I relocated to the suburbs of Chicago to attend a private university, Olivet Nazarene University.
While at Olivet, I double majored in finance and accounting where my financial interests developed into a passion in the personal finance industry. Continuing to build off this financial college education, this passion has driven me to pursue additional financial certifications in order to become a financial professional.
In 2018, I obtained the Certified Financial Planner™ certification. This accomplishment has enabled me to provide the highest standard of excellence and professionalism in the industry.
Experience and Expertise
My career is built on a foundation of growth and client-centric service. Beginning in 2015, I helped start what became a top 5% producing advisory practice at LPL Financial among over 29,000 financial advisors nationwide. I was responsible for creating holistic strategies to meet the goals of over 200 individuals and families. I also led the investment management team where we oversaw $160 million assets under management of client portfolios.
In 2022, I took the entrepreneurial step of founding my own practice, BRJ Wealth Management, where I provided personalized, hands-on service to a select group of families, working to enhance every aspect of their financial lives.
After a few years of successfully launching my own firm, I made a strategic decision to merge with Premier Financial Planning (PFP), a well-established local team here in Brighton. This move allows me to leverage PFP's extensive resources and collaborative expertise, enhancing my capabilities and ensuring that I can continue to provide a higher level of service and support to the families I help.
My “Why”
Outside of crafting financial plans, my greatest joy comes from spending time with my wonderful family. My wife, Kelli, is a dedicated elementary school teacher right here in Brighton. We've been happily married since 2016 and are kept wonderfully busy by our two daughters, Kaia (4) and Brecklyn (2). We love being outdoors and exploring local parks with the girls. Their adorable "frenemy" dynamic provides endless entertainment!
After a decade away, we're thrilled to be back in Michigan and have settled into our new home in Brighton. We're actively unpacking and eagerly reconnecting with family and friends, excited to become an integral part of the Brighton community. And when I have a moment to myself, I continue my lifelong passion for ice hockey, playing weekly in a local league.
